GRACE COUNSELLING

It is important that you find a counsellor/therapist that you feel comfortable, confident and safe with. This needs to be right for you.

It is also important that you know you are talking to someone registered, qualified and experienced.

MY APPROACH

More than three decades ago I started my work as a mental health nurse and my interest in talking therapies.

I have studied many approaches and my belief is that one size does not fit all and it takes as long as it takes. This led to my qualifying as an integrative counsellor.

My approach is to draw on all my experience a great deal of which comes from the clients I work with. I aim to work with you as a unique individual and within a safe and trusting place together.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have training in:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
  • Crisis and trauma
  • Mentalisation Based Therapy
  • Personality
  • Attachment
  • Parent Adult Child
  • Creative approaches - Gestalt
  • Therapeutic Community

However, I continue to study and learn and integrate different theories into my practice. First and foremost I believe we are all human and have inner strength & resources. We sometimes need help to understand ourselves and find our way forward.

That's why I love the Wizard of Oz saying from the good witch ( who wasn't all good )

" You had the power all along my dear "
